Purpose and Vision

The Drift App is a specialized tool designed to help farmers and applicators manage herbicide spray applications effectively. It addresses herbicide drift issues, minimizing environmental and crop impact.

To allow users to record and share crop types and traits, use real-time drift pattern visualization, and generate spray planning with weather and sprayability indices to reduce off-target damage. Drift aims to streamline and automate the spraying process, protect crop traits, and reduce insurance claims and regulatory risks by promoting environmentally conscious practices in agriculture.

Development Process

The Drift iOS app is developed using Swift, with a primary focus on UI/UX design and custom layouts. The app relies heavily on SnapKit, a library that simplifies Auto Layout constraints, making it easier to create responsive and consistent layouts with minimal code. SnapKit enables the app to implement dynamic layouts that adjust well across different screen sizes and orientations. Additionally, Figma is used for design handoffs, ensuring that the designs are meticulously crafted and directly translated into the development process. This integration allows for a smooth collaboration between design and development teams, ensuring that visual elements from Figma are accurately reflected in the final app interface.
